1. Explain how you created your movie poster. What Illustrator tools did you use? - I decided to sketch out number candles in the shape of a 1 and a 6. I scanned it in and then traced the drawing using the pen tool. I used the star shape tool to shape the yellow stars in the candles. I had to switch fonts for the number 16 which was hard to find a good but not too much of a stereotype. I then scanned in my sketches of the title and other doodles.
2. Explain how your movie poster represents the movie. - The notebook paper represents the note that Samantha writes on and then I just imagined what a teenage girl would draw on her paper. The little doodles are to show her boredom almost. The sixteen candles are a different version compared to the one in the movie. I used the outline of a polaroid because of the trend in the 70's and 80's.
3. What is your favorite part of your poster? - My favorite part of the movie poster is the candles, from where I first started it is a serious improvement.
4. What was the most challenging part of creating your poster? - The most challenging part was trying to figure out how to take the vision in my head and put in down in Adobe Illustrator.
5. What would you do differently? -One thing that I would do differently would be to look for a better texture of notebook paper, looking at it now it isn't the best quality image.
